This innovative program draws on the Cégep de Saint-Laurent’s expertise in water technologies and will help develop Scholars’ skills and employability to meet Benin’s need for a skilled workforce in water management. More than half of the Scholars will be women.
Carried out in partnership with the Institut National de l’Eau (INE) de l’Université d’Abomey-Calavi in Benin, this project will be deployed in two streams:
- Study periods for a complete program in Water Technology
Four students from Benin will receive scholarships to enroll in the complete three-year Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Water Technology program at Cégep Saint-Laurent. They will complete their studies in Canada before returning to Benin to apply their expertise by teaching or working as practitioners in the field of water management.
- Customized study stays leading to college certification in Water Treatment for a cohort of 10 students.
A cohort of 10 students will take part in a customized seven-week training program, leading to a recognized certification in water treatment.
