Colleges and Institutes Canada and Universities Canada, the consortium responsible for implementing the Canadian International Development Scholarships (BCDI 2030) program, have been advised that misinformation is currently circulating in certain countries regarding scholarships offered by the Canadian government.
We would like to clarify that, although the countries in question are eligible for the BCDI 2030 program, individual application processes can only be carried out for already approved scholarship projects, a list of which can be found on the program website, www.bcdi2030.ca.
Applications are made through a partnership between a Canadian higher education institution (HEI) and a HEI from one of the 26 eligible countries. The Canadian and partner HEIs whose project proposals are accepted for funding issue their own calls for applications for scholarships in Canada, and select scholarship candidates themselves. The selection will be made based on pre-established criteria that are in line with BCDI 2030 program terms and the admission criteria of the program of study.
BCDI 2030 and its partners never ask candidates or scholarship recipients for money. Be cautious of any messages or letters claiming to be from BCDI 2030. If you have not applied for a scholarship directly, you would not receive any communication from the program. If you receive a suspicious message, please verify its authenticity by contacting info@bcdi2030.ca before responding.
Please visit www.bcdi2030.ca for accurate and official information about BCDI 2030, as well as updates on the projects funded by the program.
Thank you
The BCDI 2030 team
