This multidisciplinary scholarship program aims to train the next generation of experts by offering students from Morocco the opportunity to acquire cutting-edge expertise in key areas such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), health sciences, humanities, governance and administration, as well as climate action (bioeconomy, energy transition and climate justice).

The proposed training is both holistic and grounded in experiential teaching methods. It includes complementary courses in leadership and sustainable development. In addition, scholarship recipients will receive personalized support to facilitate their transition to the job market upon their return to their home country.

Candidate Profile:

To be considered, a candidate must:
● Be a citizen of Morocco.
● Be affiliated to Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) or Sultan Moulay Slimane University (USMS).
● Meet the general admission requirements for visiting students at the University of Alberta.
● For master’s students, hold a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a master’s program in a relevant field of study.
● For doctoral students, hold a master’s degree (M.A. or M.sc.) or an equivalent postgraduate diploma (DEA) and be enrolled in a doctoral program in a relevant field of study.
● Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent qualification for master’s students and 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for PhD students.

Selection process:

Internal recruitment only.

Candidates must submit the following documents to the selection committee:
a. A copy of all transcripts.
b. A curriculum vitae (CV).
c. A cover letter explaining how the student's career objectives align with the objectives of the scholarship program.
d. The names and contact details of two referees (academic or professional) who can provide an impartial assessment of the candidate’s abilities.
e. Proof of English language proficiency if the study or research stay will take place in a faculty other than Faculté Saint-Jean (see English Language Proficiency Requirement).

Only those applicants who pass the screening stage will be invited for a final interview.
