Universities Canada COO discusses BCDI 2030 in Rwanda

Canadian post-secondary institutions are working with Rwanda to nurture African excellence.

Universities Canada Chief Operating Officer, Philip Landon was in Kigali in early May 2024.  There he had an informative meeting with Canada’s High Commission in Rwanda on the strong links between our two countries and the critical role higher education plays in cooperation. 

He also met with representatives of the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Network, and AIMS Rwanda to discuss Canada Africa initiatives in Math and Sciences, as well as the next steps for BCDI 2030. M. Landon met with Prof. Dr. Sam Yala, President, AIMS Network, Prof. Blaise TCHAPNDA, Academic Director, AIMS Rwanda,Dr. Isambi Sailon Mbalawata, Director, Scientific Development and Administration, AIMS Research and Innovation Centre, Mrs. Carine Umulisa, Research, Partnerships and Public Affairs Manager, AIMS Rwanda and Ms. Daisy Nerima.
