Full CyberSecurity Masters Scholarships to IT students in Rwanda

This project aims to address the shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals in Rwanda by offering six full scholarships for a Master’s in Cybersecurity to IT students at the University of Kigali. The two programs offered at Concordia University of Edmonton, Master of Information Systems Security Management (MISSM) and Master of Information Systems Assurance Management (MISAM), aim to equip students with advanced cybersecurity knowledge and practical skills. These programs cover key topics such as network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, risk management, governance, compliance and digital forensics, preparing graduates to meet the evolving demands of the labour market and contribute to Rwanda’s national cybersecurity initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

The students must be graduated from one of the following programs from the University of Kigali, Rwanda:
1. Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Information Technology – BIT
2. Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Computer Science – BCS
3. Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Business Information Technology – BBIT

At least four of the six students will be women.

Number of scholarship positions:

6

Length of Stay in Canada:

20 months

Application period:

We will have six students as follows:
1.Two students from Sept. 2025 to April 2027
2.Two students from Sept. 2026 to April 2028
3.Two students from Sept. 2027 to April 2029

Students can apply starting from Winter 2025 for the first batch, then Fall 2025 for the second batch, then Fall 2026 for the third batch.
